What I’m Loving Wednesday

I’m linking up with this kind of love for What I’m Loving Wednesday.
I’m loving…
treadup ThreadUp. It was recommended by Ramblings of a Suburban Mom and after 2 days of searching through thousands of items, I think that I came away with 10 that I will be happy with. It was insane. Not only were the items typically 70% + off, there was also free shipping and 30% off your first order. I saved $430 off retail. That is beyond crazy. Wow, just wow.
image The Goodwin Games. Super cute show with great characters. Although, the last episode had Eric Delko from CSI” Miami and his skin was so much darker than I am used to that it almost looked yellow/gray. Still looking forward to seeing him on this.

The rebate I just got for the diamonds in my wedding ring! I remember filling out a form for it (from Budget Savvy Diva I think), because I qualified for the date range in the Class Action Settlement against DeBeers, but I had completely forgotten about it. Then I received a check for about $45. Considering the millions that probably filled out the form, not too bad!
California Natural dog food. They had a recall of all of their food because of salmonella found in their cat food, and it freaked me out. I had already gone through one bag of food and was on my second 30lb. With all of the health issues Gracie has, I was not willing to chance it. Like the average person, I did not save the bag after emptying it into her bin, which was required for a refund. I scavenged around for a new dog food to last us until the stocks were restocked and sent in my claim form anyway. Not only did I get a rebate for a 30lb bag, I also received a $10 coupon and a $2 off coupon. Totaled, it was about $60 to buy new bags. Whew, glad I didn’t have to switch loyalty.
My sister-in-law and the conversations that we can have…

Tuesday Troubles

I’m linking up with Jennifer for today’s Tuesday Troubles.

~ It is so hard to leave these two in the morning when they are cuddling together.

~ A coworker has fancy Tupperware containers that collapse into about a 1/2 inch depth when she is finished with them. This would be very convenient for me instead of walking out to my car at the end of the day with 3 containers, a coffee mug, a water bottle (they charge for using the water coolers on campus), and whatever else I have decided to bring in for the day. I went onto Amazon to buy one, thinking it would be cheaper. It came in the mail the other day and turns out it was a collapsible dog bowl. Gracie added it to her stock of 10 bowls.

~ I feel like I am greatly missing out by not having Instagram. I don’t miss not having a smartphone in general, but I would probably take 20+ pictures a day with Instagram. All of Gracie. Then I could look them over at the end of each week and ohh and ahh over how adorable she is.

~ The flat range top in my kitchen has five ceramic burners, all of which are electric because gas is unheard of in the boonies. The huge middle burner has a radius of about 14 inches and has never worked. After tearing the range apart, we have no idea why it doesn’t work, but it has three different size settings and the very middle one doesn’t work, rendering the entire thing useless. I decided I would really like to cook four chicken breasts at a time instead of singles, so I needed to buy a new one. The first one I ordered from ebay came with the middle portion broken out and the glue from it sticking to the coils, which ripped three rows out. The second order came from an online retailer and the bubble wrap it was in was stuck to one coil, ripping it out. I am currently waiting for my third order. I don’t see this going well and will end up paying more to try and get the Sears retailer in town to order it for me and deal with it.

~ I just purchased a parking permit to be able to park on campus. I lasted 3 months of walking a mile instead of paying $65, but I will sacrifice $65 for the summer term to be able to wear cute shoes every day. And I kept forgetting my coffee in my car. Unacceptable.

~ The Maurices in town has the worst fashion sense. Compared to online, they pick terrible items to sell. Also, it seems that every girl in my size in town has the same style as me (i.e. black, white, and gray), because whenever I go in there, the sizes that I can choose from are the only ones sold out! This resulted in an online order of many random things in multiple colors and sizes, of which I will return in store when I decide what ones I like most.

Overall, not a very troublesome start to my week, but a spendy one to circumvent living in a small town!

Back in the Saddle

Not exactly a year since my accident, more like 10 months, but oh does it feel good! There will be no riding the the highway, but to the mailboxes and back is such a sweet treat.
